Sourced from the historic Zenjyoji district of Ujitawara in Kyoto, this ceremonial-grade matcha comes from the Nishide Tea Factory, a family operation spanning over 140 years. The matcha takes its name "Kuwari" from the ancient temple that once administered these lands, and the tea plants grow beneath canopy shade for approximately 40 days to develop deep umami character. Stone-milled to a fine powder at Nishide's own facility, this matcha earned a Silver Medal at the prestigious Japanese Tea Selection Paris competition, reflecting its exceptional quality.
